About Shreveport Mold Removal
Shreveport Mold Removal is the local line for one kind of problem: mold and water damage in houses and buildings across Shreveport, Bossier City and the towns of Caddo and Bossier Parish. We take the call, set up the visit, and keep the paperwork straight, and the work itself is split the way Louisiana requires: an independent assessor inspects and tests, and a separate remediation crew does the removal. Call (318) 666-4874.
Who does what on a mold job
The assessor. An independent mold assessor inspects the house, maps the moisture, takes samples where they answer a question, and writes the report. After any removal, the assessor carries out the clearance test. See mold inspection and testing.
The remediation crew. A separate remediation contractor sets up containment, removes what the mold has grown into, cleans and treats the framing, and dries the space. For jobs valued at $7,500 or more, Louisiana requires that contractor to hold a mold remediation license from the State Licensing Board for Contractors. See mold remediation.
Why they are kept apart. Louisiana does not allow one company, or companies tied to each other, to both assess and remediate mold on the same property. That protects you: the person telling you how big the problem is has nothing to gain from making it bigger.
How a job runs from the first call
The call. Tell us what you are seeing or smelling, where it is, and whether anything has leaked, frozen or flooded. If water is still coming in, the first job is stopping it and drying the house; see water damage restoration.
The assessment. A written report sets out where the moisture is, where the mold is, and what needs to happen: cleaning, remediation, or fixing the water and keeping an eye on it.
The written price. If remediation is needed, the scope is priced against the report: what comes out, what is cleaned and treated, how it is dried, and what the rebuild costs. Nothing is added on the day.
The clearance and the paperwork. The assessor tests the air after the work, and you keep one set of records: the report, lab results, photos, moisture readings and the clearance result, ready for an adjuster, a buyer or a tenant.
What we help with
Mold under raised floors and in crawl spaces, in attics and bathrooms, in AC units and ducts, on textured ceilings, and the dark growth people call black mold. Water damage after leaks, freezes and storms, and mold after a flood. Offices, shops and rentals on the commercial page. Every price we use is on the cost page.
Before you hire anyone for mold work
Whoever you use, ask three things. Is the company that tests the house separate from the company that removes the mold? For a job of $7,500 or more, can the remediation contractor show a current Louisiana mold remediation license? And can they show proof of insurance? If any answer is no, keep looking. The state's own guidance is in the Louisiana Department of Health mold brochure, and contractor licenses can be checked with the State Licensing Board for Contractors.

About us: common questions
Do you inspect and remove the mold yourselves?
No single company can do both on the same property in Louisiana. The inspection and the clearance test come from an independent assessor, and the removal from a separate remediation contractor. We arrange the visit and keep the paperwork in one place.

How do I check a mold remediation contractor in Louisiana?
For jobs valued at $7,500 or more, ask for the contractor's Louisiana mold remediation license and check it with the State Licensing Board for Contractors. Ask for proof of insurance as well, and make sure the company testing the house is not the one doing the removal.
